Twigg Puzzles Now at Cape View Nursery

We’re always on the lookout for new and industry relevant products that combine creativity, beauty, and quality craftsmanship. This brand that we discovered at the recent Melbourne Gift Fair is something new that immediately caught our eye.

That something was Twigg Puzzles, a small Australian business creating wooden puzzles that are as captivating to look at as they are to build.

(Side note, PLANT blogs ARE coming, fear not)

Meeting Dave & Discovering Twigg Puzzles

We met Dave (one half of the husband and wife duo, Kelly and Dave) at the fair earlier this month. His display was bright, vibrant, and colourful, instantly standing out as a product we’d love to share with our customers.

On closer inspection, the puzzles were even more impressive. The quality and intricacy of the designs blew us away, and hearing that Dave hand-draws the shapes into every puzzle gave the whole concept an extra layer of magic. We were able to pick up pieces and feel how seamlessly the laser-cut shapes slotted together, and that’s when we were hooked.

Jill & I lingered around the Twigg Puzzles stall eagerly awaiting for Kristy to catch up with us (in true style, Kristy had been "caught up" looking at pretty packaging and wrapping solutions). We couldn't wait to show the boss what we had discovered, well, what Jill had discovered truth be told!

The Fun of the Build

I haven’t had the chance to build one myself just yet, but I can already feel the anticipation. Every time I walk past the display, I find myself captivated, scanning the puzzle for those clever little shapes hidden within the design.

What excites me most is the intricacy, the discovery, and the idea of "switching off" while sinking my teeth into a build. For me, it’s definitely something I’d love to do with family and friends; sharing laughs as we stumble across “what else” has been hidden in the puzzle.

Like gardening or working on a Tiny Treehouse, puzzles have that unique power to slow us down and bring us back to the moment. It’s mindfulness, but in a way that’s joyful, creative, and rewarding.

Our Favourites

We’ve all already picked our favourites:

Mine are Nuts About Gums and State Emblems - both for their botanical themes, Aussie nostalgia, and beautiful floral detail.

Kirsty’s favourite is the Hummingbird - she was instantly drawn to the colouring and her love of birds added to the appeal. Upon closer inspection this puzzle has many dimensions and you are always spotting something "new".

Jesse’s favourite is Orchids - no surprises there! Anyone who knows Jesse knows he has a very one-track mind when it comes to orchids. We had to pry this one out of his hands and he will need to wait until our next shipment to have one of his very own to complete!
